    In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. TED provides the rules and guidelines, but TEDxCharlottesville is independently organized and executed. Since 2013, TEDxCharlottesvile has participated in the TEDx mission to bring awareness to the rich talent, creativity and innovation found here in Charlottesville, Virginia. Meet the folks who made this TEDx idea a reality.  

    Isabella Jones, Speaker Liason for Joel Fuhrman

    A self proclaimed body mechanic and social scientist, Isabella has devoted the past 30 years to educating American families about the truth underlying the path towards wellness. Her programs teach people how to take care of not just their bodies, but their cognitive function, moods and memory. “Movement is nourishment for the human body as well as the brain.     Joel Fuhrman, Physician

    Joel Fuhrman, M.D., is a board-certified family physician, NYew York Times best-selling author and nutritional researcher who specializes in preventing and reversing disease through nutritional and natural methods. He is an internationally recognized expert on nutrition and natural healing, and has appeared on hundreds of radio and television shows including The Dr. Oz Show, the Today Show, Good Morning America, and Live with Kelly. Fuhrman’s own hugely successful PBS television shows, 3 Steps to Incredible Health! and Fuhrman’s Immunity Solution! bring nutritional science to homes all across America.     Hi everyone I promised

    some information about a healthier “US” for the rest of our lives. “Nutrition” means providing your body with what it needs. The body has very basic and predictable requirements: *Enough rest/sleep/relaxation *Enough exercise *Enough of the vital nutrients your body requires for healthy functioning This piece will discuss the last issue-the vital nutrients required by your body for good health.     Happy Thanksgiving!

    I hope all of you, my wonderful and dear students and friends, are enjoying yourselves in anticipation of Thanksgiving!

    I wish you could join me for the Turkey morning work-out at Massanutten. I will be teaching Heart Beat (cardio kickboxing) and Resort Yoga tomorrow up at Le Club 8:45-10:45. Ya’ll know I exercise so I can eat! We will film some segments and upload them online so you can exercise with us this weekend and work off those calories!
    Remember these tips:
    • Try to get a morning work out in – even 10 minutes will count!
    • Don’t overeat! Enjoy smaller portions!
